WITH SUPPORT FROM

Hello Littleton readers,

I’m Nina Joss, the community editor for the Littleton Independent. Welcome to your e-edition newsletter, where you get this week’s highlights and a digital copy of your paper. As always, you can reach me with story tips and feedback at njoss@coloradocommunitymedia.com.

First:

In just a couple of weeks, we will enjoy an extra day of February! Leap Day is a fascinating event, full of superstitions, traditions and confusing birthdays.

Were you or someone you know born on Leap Day? Do you have a Leap Day anniversary? Have you ever participated in a Leap Day proposal? We want to hear it!

Email me at njoss@coloradocommunitymedia.com with your name, phone number and a brief explanation of your Leap Day story. I will use these contacts to write an article about Leap Day experiences for the last edition of February!

In this week’s paper...

  • Littleton looks to expedite bike and pedestrian safety: City Council members continued their ongoing conversation about bike and pedestrian safety in the wake of recent deaths.

  • Colorado students go pro in cornhole: It’s become much more than just a tailgate, beer garden or backyard barbecue game, and two local seniors are paving the way

  • How to defer your property taxes: If you’re staring at your property tax bill and having a meltdown, a Colorado program might offer you relief.

  • Police identify arrested Arapahoe Community College student: James Curtis Graham Jr., 35, was arrested on campus Feb. 1 on a felony warrant while allegedly carrying a loaded handgun in his backpack.

  • Town Hall Arts Center going strong: In its 41st season, the center looks back on accomplishments and forward to upcoming shows

  • Take a hike (without traveling too far): The word “hiking” may conjure images of mountains and rugged dirt trails. But hiking doesn’t have to be so extreme. It doesn’t even have to involve big hills.
